Making books with children in your Home School

Making books with children at my school at home is one of the best pastimes I know. You create an environment that fosters rich language, a better reading skills and inspire imagination. There are also parents and children shared a moment of special memories.

If you book with children, keep it simple and use easy to find materials. Both save on frustration and ensure a fun time. Here are instructions for my three favorite books. These books can be used in many different genresRoutes and for each topic or subject.

Directions

Supplies List

Construction paper
Ream copy paper
Cardboard (with a local print shop for large pieces of paper)
cards (SMEs)
Crayons
colored pencils (nice but not absolutely necessary)
Scissors (the type for small hands)
Glue stick (this is better as a glue for the production of books)
Leftover wrapping paper
Wallpaper samples (give away the outdated, if you) Ask
Punch
Cardboard (thin is better for the books)
Yarn, ribbon, rope

Small book

Take a sheet of 8-1/2 x 11 copy paper. In the middle and fold in half again, there are four areas in a state bent. Cut along the folds, there are four small leaves and stack. Cutting to add two pieces of cardboard slightly larger than the leaves, leaves and punch two holes in one side. Thread with ribbon, thread or string.

Big Book

This isonly a small variation on the book. Take 8-1/2 x 11 sheets, as many as necessary, Stack, coverage of creating something bigger than the leaves, add-staple or punch and thread with yarn, ribbon, etc. sheets as needed to make a book more long.

Accordion book

Cut two 8-1/2 x 11 sheets in half the long way. Tape the end purpose. Fold the (now) a long stretch back and forth to make accordion-style pages. Cut two pieces of poster slightly larger than the folded paper. A stickPiece at each end of the paper, so that the two pieces of poster for the book opens and closes like an accordion.

Variations

Use wallpaper to cover. Making a name for the title and the glue to cover the wallpaper.

can cover a box with packing paper attached to the inside front and back. These are called endpapers. Look at picture books with the intention of discussing the paper.

Vary the colors of paper for use in adhesives, markers. Decorate

Types of books to make

Alphabet book - make-book page 26 and put the letters (uppercase and lowercase) in the upper right corner. Collect pictures of things beginning with each letter.

All About Me - Book a book, a photo of your child, names of family members and pictures, your age, size has (take time to show him how to measure), weight (shown as working scales) goods favorite food (Make a list of help), favorite books, etc.

More AboutPounds - which is a way to supplement the lessons. Choose to study a subject you are. Farm animals can follow units on food, pets could teach caring for others can take photos from your city underline a lesson about the Community and wild animals to illustrate facts about different countries. Cut pictures from magazines or catalogs for illustrations.

History book - When finished a fable of Aesop, rhyme or short story, you'll have your child tell the story. He can dictate the story and draw pictures. The accordion book works very well for them.

My view Word Book - a small book with ten or twelve pages. Every day, ask your child what they like to put special word in this book would be today. Print only one word on each page. Ask your child point to and say the word. Then ask your child the letters of the word (to prove you have, you might say) and then say the word. As the book grows, the child had read his book to another family member.

Publish yourChild

Every author wants to publish his work. Your child is no exception. But in this case means sharing with the publication of his other books and a shelf that stores his books, like in a library. Be sure to include as part of the joy of books with your child.
